28th Nov 2011November saw the band proud to take part in "Movember" and grew some scary facial hair to support the cause. Texas flew to L.A and did some vocal work with Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden .....) and David Baerwald (Sheryl Crow....) while the rest of the band laid down the backtracks to what will become a 2012 release mixed by the now almost 5th member Joe Zook (One Republic, Katy Perry etc). This time recording was almost pleasurable very little technical hitches and very loud D minor's.
Hope you can make it down to some gigs in the gig section over the coming weeks cos we have lots of new merch for you to buy !

Home from L.A.
17th Nov 2010We arrived home from L.A having worked with some Amazing Producers & really cool people in some legendary places, We also headlined a gig at the legendary Viper Room. L.A filled us with lot of ideas in our heads and heap load of work to do - recording to look forward to & songs to finish writing, We managed take a breath in between recording & writing sessions to meet with Universal Music Ireland and we signed a deal with them!! Our signing with Universal which will culminate in a Release in Early 2011!
Whilst we are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to the tracks to be included on our upcoming Universal Ireland release we will be playing a number of Exclusive shows across Ireland so we'll keep you updated!
Cheers,
TexL.A Here we come!!
29th Sep 2010Since we were last onto you we’ve had a busy summer doing gigs & festivals in sunshine & rain, indoors & outdoors. We spent a lot of our time in the summer in the recording studio writing new songs & getting demo’s of the new material cut, I think I speak for the band when I say that We’re really excited & pleased with our new material.
L.A: So we’re off to L.A on the 10th October for 3 Weeks to meet up with our U.S Management company; ‘Fakework Management’ Interscope’s associated management company. James Mormile (A & R, Interscope Records) & DJ Mormile (Senior VP of A & R Interscope Records) and then down to work with a number of producers including Warren Huart (producer The Fray ‘How to Save a Life’ & ‘You Found Me’) & Dave Hodges (Evanescence.)
I can’t wait to play all our new stuff for these guys, see what they think & hopefully get some recording done, We’re hoping there’s also the chance to play a few gigs over there too, Someone also keeps whispering the word ‘Vegas!’ too which is weird. In the last few weeks we’ve been playing gigs at nearly every college in the country welcoming Freshers into College life with a bang, not to mention playing The Brazen Head on Arthur’s Day which was great, We’ve still a few more college gigs to play before we head off, We’ll be having a party before we go too in Whelan’s on the 9th October, We’ll be trying to take as much footage & photos & keeping you all updated on what’s going on when we’re out there,
Hope to see you all soon,
Cheers,
Tex
July Update
14th Jul 2010In Shoos News; Since our last post we've had the very successful self-released single "Distance" was unleashed in May 2010 and received a lot of attention including being championed by Ray D’arcy on Today FM and achieving widespread airplay on all top regional and national stations. The single reached number 1 in the national physical sales chart and 21 in the combined physical and download charts.
The success of ‘Distance’ attracted major label interest and The Shoos have recently signed a deal with Universal Music Ireland with an impending release targeted for September 2010. The success of Distance also resulted in attention being fielded from DJ Mormile (Senior VP of A & R Interscope Records) at Interscope’s associated management company. As a result the band will be heading to LA in October 2010 to work with a number of producers including Warren Huart (producer The Fray ‘How to Save a Life’ & ‘You Found Me’). The Shoos are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on tracks to be included on their upcoming Universal release.
Which is all very exciting for us, We're also still working hard doing as many gigs as we can couple with writing new material to bring to L.A with us.
We'll update you again as soon as possible with photos, videos & anything else we can think of from the gigs around the country,
Cheers,
Tex

January Update
17th Feb 2010January Update:
How’s it going everyone?
It’s been a crazy new year so far for The Shoos,
We began the New Year by recording some demos in down in Newtown Mt Kennedy around the time of the snow, I miss the snow now that it’s gone, although bring on some warm weather now, The demos turned out really good, we’re really pleased with them & we’ve included them in our set list from now on.
We were invited to play some showcase gigs in New York & we spent a great week there in late January, so we had a few warm up gigs in Dublin before we jetted off. We played some really cool venues out there, met some interesting people like Barry Manilow in a bookshop, Steve got a haircut, Barry walked in front of a bus, Scott lost his passport & managed to get on an internal flight from L.A to New York using our single as his I.D! – General fun & giddiness with a bout of gastro enteritis thrown in for good measure! And the gigs, well the gigs were great…Acoustic in the Scratcher sessions, mid week in Fat Baby & big one to end the week in Arlene’s Grocery – Thanks Again to all who came down, can’t wait to get back & see you all again.
We’ve made a kind of video blog ‘January with the shoos’ which should be going up on youtube & our website asap & will update with the links, vids & photos.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all in the Academy2 this Friday5th Feb’for our first headline show of the year. Doors @ 7.30pm, with support from Jupe & The Rooftop Anthem Tickets available on ticketmaster & at the door.
Looking forward: We’ve got loads going on, we’re booking up pretty fast for the next few months & into the summer, so we’re extremely busy which is great, with some great dates & venues TBA because some of them are TBC!
